Magnetic fuzz face toy

Fuzzy Faces

Remember those magnetic drawing toys with a bald guy's face under the plastic and a pile of iron fuzz at the bottom, where you'd drag a little magnet around to give him a beard? This is that, except you can put any face you want under the plastic - your own, your friend's, your dog's - and the fuzz acts like the real thing.

Playing it here is free. If you like having it around, $2 or more through itch.io (card or PayPal) helps keep a tiny studio making stuff like this, and we'll throw in the offline copy - the whole toy in one file that runs in any recent browser, no internet needed.

About the game

There are 10,000 little filings in there and each one stands up along the magnet's pull when you grab it, so it looks like actual iron fuzz instead of dots. Drag slow and the whole clump comes with you, swipe fast and you leave a trail of strays behind, which is pretty much how the real one worked too. You get three magnets, a tiny Pin for detail work, the Wand, and a big Mega one for moving a whole fro at once, and when you're done you can shake it all back into the pile or stand it up and watch the fuzz slide down like the toy's sitting on a shelf.

Free Fuzz is just you and the magnet. Style Cards gives you nine looks to copy, from The Mustache and The Unibrow up to Mutton Chops, The Big Fro and Full Moon werewolf mode, with a stencil to follow and a Fuzz-o-meter that gives you up to three stars when you have it judged. If you want to keep one, Snap saves your fuzzy face as a picture.

If you don't have a photo handy there's Mr. Baldwin and Big Baby, and you can print any face as a regular photo, a comic or newspaper dots.

Big Baby with a big fro of magnetic fuzz puffs around the top of his head, the red toy card beside the magnet and print controls Style Cards on Mr. Baldwin, Mutton Chops with the stencil on, one sideburn of fuzz done and the Fuzz-o-meter at 72 percent The Mustache judged, three gold stars, 87 percent and Legendary Fuzz
