Bubble wrap popping toy

Bubble Poppers

You know when a package shows up and the best part is the bubble wrap? This whole game is that part. There's air trapped in every sheet, roll, mailer and air bag, and it's your job to rescue it - one bubble at a time, or a whole row at once if you've got the right tool.

Playing it here is free. If you like having it around, $2 or more through itch.io (card or PayPal) helps keep a tiny studio making stuff like this, and we'll throw in the offline copy - the whole toy in one file that runs in any recent browser, no internet needed.

About the game

Air Rescue is 20 deliveries from a bunch of people who all packed way too much bubble wrap. Some just want it done before par, some have a courier waiting outside with the clock running, and some want it loud enough to move the Pop-O-Meter. A couple of them want you to pop around a picture printed on the sheet and leave it standing, and then there's the lady next door whose baby is asleep, so you let the air out with a push pin, nice and quiet.

You start with your fingertip and pick up new tools along the way - a rolling pin for whole rows, sneakers for stomping, the push pin, a twist that wrings the sheet so it goes off like popcorn, an office chair that leaves five trails of pops behind it, and a rubber mallet for the loudest pop in the house. Every pop sounds a little different depending on how big the bubble is and what it's wrapped in.

Free Pop has all of it with no rules and no clock - five bubble sizes from tiny micro bubbles up to jumbo, seven colors of film, rolls you can keep pulling, kraft and poly and metallic and holographic mailers, air pillows, big air bags and a quilted air cushion. And in Mailer Studio you design your own bubble mailer with prints, stickers, stamps, tape and your own words, save it as a picture, and then pop it.

Big Bubbles, two sneakers stomping a sheet of one-inch bubbles with pops flying and the Pop-O-Meter past its 93 dB goal Three big air bags, one already flat and the rubber mallet landing on the next with a BOOM at 109 dB Mailer Studio with a holographic checkered mailer covered in stickers, an Air Mail label and Handle With Care
