Endless 3D diorama

Curio Parade

Remember those picture books where you'd hunt for one tiny spoon in a giant heap of stuff? This is like that, except it never ends and every single thing in it is a real museum object - 565 of them from The Met and the Smithsonian, all public domain and cut right out of their museum photos.

About the game

The objects get heaped into themed worlds that drift past you in 3D like a big messy diorama, and the camera just keeps rolling along. There's Toy Riot, Pirate Hoard, Haunted Attic, Tea Party Pandemonium, Deep Sea Drawer, Rocket Garage, Bug Bazaar, Orchestra Explosion, Clockwork Chaos, Pharaoh's Pantry, Knight Closet, Mad Hatter's Closet, Animal Parade and Crystal Cave, and every fifth world is a Lost & Found that raids a few of the other drawers at once. Stuff piles up in heaps and hangs off strings and sits on wall shelves, little parades march through, and every so often a pile comes tumbling down in an avalanche. Each world tears into the next one like a page, so there's never a hard cut.

Every world deals you a card of five things to spy, and they're always really in there somewhere. Click one and it gets crossed off. You can click anything else too and read its actual museum label, which says what it is and which museum it lives at. Or you can ignore all of that and just leave it running, which is kind of the point.

Each world has its own little music box soundtrack that gets made up as it plays, and it picks up a bit if you speed the parade up.

Pirate Hoard drifting by, a heap of real coins, boxes, medals and cups, with the card asking for a spyglass, a chalice, a pendant, a match safe and a ring Orchestra Explosion with three of five crossed off and the museum label for a 19th-century French harp tuning key that lives at The Met Clockwork Chaos tearing into Toy Riot, pocket watches and gears on one side, dolls on a polka-dot wall on the other
